The Whistlers in the Dark Launch
The launch for The Whistlers in the Dark took place in the William Patrick Library in Kirkintilloch where I spent a lot of time growing up. As well as book readings, a ‘guess the Iron Age/Roman object’ quiz and lots of craft activities, attendees at the morning and afternoon sessions learned how to do some traditional wool carding, spinning and weaving with volunteers from the Auld Kirk Museum, and they were treated to demonstrations of Roman armour, weaponry and kit by the Antonine Guard Roman re-enactment group.
A big thank-you to the staff and volunteers of the library and the Auld Kirk Museum, as well as to the Antonine Guard for making the day such a success! You can see some of the launch day highlights in the picture gallery here
